"Here you are - those invited to spend in the cause of Allah - but among you are those who withhold [out of greed]. And whoever withholds only withholds [benefit] from himself; and Allah is the Free of need, while you are the needy. And if you turn away, He will replace you with another people; then they will not be the likes of you." Sahih Int.

I was getting ready for work last week and chance upon hearing this verse. And I told my husband how much I love this verse.

Firstly, it speaks about opportunity. Not everyone is given the opportunity to be invited by Allah to spend in the cause of Allah. That opportunity comes once, and if it is not taken seriously, it will be replaced by others who are better than us. An invitation by the Lord Above to do good. The thought that Allah remembers you, can never be replaceable.

Knowing that Allah is giving me His attention is everything to me.

Secondly, it speaks about spending in the cause of Allah. There are many ways to spend in the cause of Allah. Although what most people love is money. There are people who values time more than their wealth. Time is money!! Using the time or money in the cause of Allah is valuable.

Thirdly, Allah says " فَمِنكُم مَّن يَبْخَلُ وَمَن يَبْخَلْ فَإِنَّمَا يَبْخَلُ عَن نَّفْسِهِۦ وَٱللَّهُ ٱلْغَنِىُّ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلْفُقَرَآءُ"

"There are within you who is not willing to spend in the cause Allah.. and whoever is stingy/niggard, he is just being niggard to himself."

The opportunity that Allah gives us, is not for Allah, but it is for us. For our own benefit.

Allah do not need our money. Allah do not need our time. Allah do not need our attention. It is in His Mercy to gives us a chance to change our future.

Lastly, The opportunity comes once.

Either you act upon it, or you will be replaced.

" وَٱللَّهُ ٱلْغَنِىُّ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلْفُقَرَآءُ"

Verily Allah is Rich and you are poor.
